"IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE" Luxury Catered Ski Chalet, Privately Run Ideal for groups, couples, and singles Sleeps 10 in en-suite bedrooms (If you have a larger group call us and we may be able to meet your needs)
Chalet des Cimes was built as a traditional Savoyard farmhouse in 1857 and has been completely renovated to give the best of modern living whilst retaining the character of the original building. En-suite bedrooms, under-floor heating, a spacious living and dining room and a luxurious hot tub, all contribute to give you a comfortable and memorable holiday. And it is just minutes from Sainte Foy, Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Arcs and La Rosiere, giving us a huge choice skiing. CHALET LIFE
A winter season's day begins with a hearty breakfast and talk of plans for the day’s activities. Evening life tends to revolve around the chalet. The evening meal is the main event with delicious, wholesome food, lively conversation and those (ever growing taller) stories of the day’s activities. You can relax on the comfy sofas around the log fire for your pre-meal drinks or after-dinner conversation. Maybe you will have taken a relaxing soak in our outdoor hot tub between returning from skiing and dinner. A music system (bring your own favourites), books and games are available for your amusement, as well as a video and DVD player (tucked away in its corner of the living room) and a selection of videos and DVDs. On bad weather days, you are welcome to stay in the chalet and make yourself at home.
THE CHALET Chalet des Cimes is at an altitude of 1400 metres, built on three floors on the side of the mountain. It has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard. The whole house is heated by the beautifully even warmth of under-floor heating, with individually adjustable thermostats in each room. Please note that for everyone’s comfort, smoking is not allowed inside the chalet.
THE LIVING ROOM
To make the best of the wonderful views, we turned the house upside down so that the living room and dining area are on the top floor, under the exposed, original wooden beam roof. Large picture windows look out over breathtaking views of the valley and the surrounding peaks – even the locals say it’s one of the best views in the valley. Sliding doors lead out on to a large south-facing terrace. The kitchen is also on this floor, and for safety reasons is closed to guests. However, a refreshments corner is available at all times for you to make yourself tea or coffee, along with a fridge and an honesty bar, with mixers for your own spirits brought from home.
THE BEDROOMS The five guest bedrooms are on the lower two floors. These can be configured as doubles or twins to suit your needs. Clever, specially made beds ensure that the double bed really is a double bed! We know from experience how annoying it is to have to queue for a shower or the loo, so we have equipped every room with its own shower room with toilet and a hand basin. There is also an additional shower available for your use for early arrivals/late departures.
You’ll sleep under the luxury of feather duvets with feather pillows. Unless you are actually allergic to the feathers themselves (in which case please let us know in advance), you need have no worries about normal allergies – we’ve been assured that the nasty household beasties that cause allergic reactions don’t survive much above 1000 metres above sea level, well below us!
